Becoming a Client
The process of becoming a client at the Law Office of Jacob Burland is as important as any aspect of his representation of you in furtherance of your rights. If you or a loved one has been injured, simply contact the firm. Jacob Burland will interview you to get the basic facts of your situation. If both parties feel like this representation would be a good fit, a consultation is scheduled either at the law office or in a location convenient for the client.
There is no charge for this initial consultation. If it still feels like a good fit, then the client signs a retainer agreement with Jacob Burland. During the initial consultation, the client also signs an authorization that allows the firm to collect any and all medical information, accident-related records, and, if appropriate, workers' compensation records. The firm will do all the necessary investigation and location of these records, which can be very time-consuming. However, you do not have to worry - the firm will do this for you as part of its service.
In order to expedite the process of advancing your claim, it may be advisable, depending on the situation, to bring the following to your appointment, if any or all of them are available:
- Copy of the police report
- Any photographs taken at the scene of the accident or of your injuries
- Medical Report
- Insurance
- Vehicle Registration
- Any information on the other party/parties
- Any and all medical bills
- Any records of lost wages or wages you will lose as a result of your injuries
From this point, you don't need to worry. You won't have to deal with the other party, nor with the other party's insurance company, private investigators, etc. The Law Office of Jacob Burland will take things from there and pursue your claim and your rights to the fullest extent of the law. You can concentrate on getting better and getting back into the routine of your life.
